SAFETY NOTICE FOR FIREWORKS AND THE PORT GAMBLE S’KLALLAM COMMUNITY
The Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe has determined that the following areas will be prohibited from discharging Fireworks.
- Tribal Center Campus
- Tribal Government areas off campus (Court, Blue House, Construction areas, Hatchery)
- Baseball Field
- Jake Jones Park
Currently there is no burn ban in place and as a community we must remain vigilant regarding safety and proper conduct with Fireworks.
Reference: Title 5.04.13 “Reckless Discharge of Fireworks” of the PGST Law and Order Code states:
“Any person who discharges fireworks in a reckless manner that creates substantial risk of
property damage or death or serious physical injury to another, or who discharges fireworks
while under the influence of intoxicants, or who discharges fireworks while a PGST burn
ban is in effect shall be guilty of a Class C offense.”
