The Gliding Eagle Market is getting a facelift! The store will undergo a major remodel with new floors, layout, and more beginning in October. This remodel will modernize the appearance of the store and improve customer experience.
The work begins on the evening of Sunday, October 18 when the building will close and the store will transition into a temporary structure in the GEM parking lot effective Monday, October 19. Gas pumps are expected to be down for about an hour during the store’s transition.
The temporary store will sell soda, snacks, and many other convenience items, but will be limited by only two cash registers. Select items, like alcohol products, will be sold out of an area connected to the north end of the main building. Signage will be placed throughout the area to help customers find what they need, and GEM team members will be available to assist.
The temporary store set-up will limit some capacity to handle customers because of space limitations. GEM management asks for patience during busy periods. If possible, please pay for gas with a credit or debit card at the pump, or using the Sinclair app.
While the deli in the main building will be closed during the remodel, we are exploring whether food service can be provided at a temporary location or by area food trucks or other vendors.
During construction, on-site parking will be somewhat limited. We appreciate your patience and continued support while we make these critical facility improvements.
The GEM remodel is expected to be completed with the store reopening sometime before Thanksgiving.
Recently, GEM transitioned to Sinclair fuel and finished on-site branding. This has allowed GEM and The Point Market to provide high-quality gas at some of the most competitive prices in North Kitsap.
