The PGST Health Center would like to send a (very) temporary farewell to our Medical Director, Dr. Luke McDaniel, who has left for service with the Commissioned Corps in Kenya. His work will help treat people fighting the Ebola virus. As everyone in our community knows, the individuals he will care for could not hope for a better doctor!

Dr. McDaniel is expected to be in Africa through the end of the year and will, of course, take every precaution for his personal health so he can return to his family and community safely. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

During Dr. McDaniel’s absence, Dr. Josh Huhndorf will fill in as Medical Director at the Health Center.

Dr. McDaniel will return to PGST in early 2027. Soon after, he will retire from the Commissioned Corps (but not from the PGST!), which means everyone will have to adjust to seeing him without a uniform! Stay tuned—more information to come about a PGST community celebration to congratulate Dr. McDaniel on his retirement from service and continued work with the Tribe!
