On Monday, July 24 at 11 am, the Enrollment Eligibility Committee (EEC) will provide a summary of its process to date to Tribal Council and ask about next steps in making decisions on recommendations by the EEC. This discussion was postponed by Tribal Council due to scheduling issues after being on the agenda in June.

The EEC was formed in 2018 under the direction of Tribal Council. Its members include those from existing committees, including Enrollment and Law-and-Order, as well as enrolled Tribal members, a contracted attorney, and other related consultants that specialize in data collection and analysis.

Last fall, the EEC presented their initial findings to enrolled PGST members in a series of community meetings, which were followed by a survey to assess any preferences for possible changes to enrollment eligibility. The results of the survey were released this spring. The recommendations being presented to Tribal Council on Monday have been discussed during these community meetings.

The Committee will see if Council is ready to discuss moving forward with one of the three recommendations made by EEC, make no changes, or pursue another as-yet-undefined option. No matter what Council decides, Tribal membership will continue to be involved.

Transparency remains a core principle for the EEC and the EEC will continue to provide updates and ensure community input!

NOTE: This meeting was rescheduled most recently from Tribal Council’s July 17 meeting when the power went out.
