On Thursday, September 21 at 4 pm, the new Hatchery and Shelter facilities at Point Julia will be honored with a Welcoming and Blessing ceremony. All PGST community members are welcome!
After the ceremony, attendees are invited to stay to take tours of the new Hatchery building and enjoy a meal of salmon, hot dogs, and hamburger served in the new shelter.
The new Hatchery building began construction in 2022 to replace a crumbling building originally built in 1977. While the footprint of the building remains relatively the same, the new building is two stories and features offices for Hatchery staff and a conference room available for PGST community use. The new Shelter includes a prep table and extended seating for meals and events.
