Housing Authority

Mission Statement:

“The PGST Housing Authority is dedicated to creating safe, affordable housing opportunities for all tribal members. We strive to promote self-sufficiency and community empowerment, rooted in the values of trust, culture, and sovereignty. By prioritizing affordable housing programs and home ownership opportunities, we aim to enrich the land and legacy of the S’Klallam people for future generations”.

IMPORTANT UPDATE TO OFFICE HOURS:

Starting January 1, 2026, the following office hours will be in effect:

Monday – Wednesday & Fridays: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, walk ins welcome!

Thursdays: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, by appointment only.

 

Programs and Services

  • Rental Assistance Program: Assists eligible households, whose income is below 80% the Area Median Income, with move-in costs and monthly assistance for off reservation rentals within Kitsap County.
  • Move-In Rental Assistance Program: Assists eligible households, whose income is above 80% the Area Median Income, with move-in costs, up to $5,000.00, for off reservation rentals within Kitsap County.
  • Down-Payment Assistance:  Applications for low-income (below 80% AMI) open for 2026.

  • Home Repair: The 2026 Home Repair Program is open for applications. Please contact Stormy Purser with questions. Applications can be found below or in the Housing office.
  • Low-Rent Program: Assists eligible households, whose income is below at least 50% or 80% the Area Median Income, with on-reservation rental housing.
  • Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Program: Assists eligible households, whose income is below at least 30%, 40%, or 60% the Area Median Income, with on-reservation rental housing.

2026 Amerind Safety Poster Contest

PGSHA is participating in this years kids safety poster contest through AMERIND. If you would like to participate please see the following flyer for official rules and content. Turn in your poster to any staff at the housing office, drop box, mail or via email to stormy.purser@pgst.nsn.us. Enteries due to housing NO LATER than July 22, 2026. The Board of Commissioners and Staff will vote and submit the winners from each category to Amerind. Please be sure to write all of the required information on the back of your picture so they can contact the winners!
