WIC provides supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and support; referrals, and access to health services for low-income, pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum women as well as infants and children.

Programs/services offered:

  • Access to healthy food. Through WIC, mothers and eligible caregivers receive monthly checks to purchase groceries.
  • Nutrition guidance to help mothers breastfeed successfully.
  • Referrals to outside care, including healthcare professionals, immunization services, substance abuse counselors, domestic abuse counselors, and other social services.
  • A community of support, including connection with nutritionists, lactation specialists, and peers.
