Tribal Council values the input given by these advisory groups.

Hunting Committee (2 position)

Hunting Committee advises Tribal Council on hunting code provisions and makes recommendations on hunting regulations. Committee members receive a $100 stipend for each meeting attended. The Committee meets once per month.

 

Child Protection Team Advisory Committee (5 position)

The Child Protection Advisory Committee makes recommendations on the management and/or resolution of open Indian Child Welfare cases.

 CPT meets once a month, the first Monday two weeks prior to the civil court date, from 1:30p-3:30pm. Members receive a $100 stipend for each meeting attended.

 CPT Committee members are bound by federal and Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribal Laws and regulations regarding issues of confidentiality. All information and sources of information are strictly confidential.

 

Fish Committee (1 position)

The Fish Committee acts in an advisory capacity to the staff and Tribal Council on fisheries related issues. Fish Committee members receive a $100 stipend for each meeting attended.

 The Fish Committee meets once per month.

Education Committee (3 positions)

The Education Committee is one of the Tribe’s advisory committees. Its role is to advise Tribal staff and Tribal Council on educational matters — including programs, policies, and education-related concerns for Tribal members of all ages.The Tribe’s Career & Education Department supports services like employment assistance and support, youth and adult education, academic assistance, and connections with schools in the surrounding area.

The Education Committee helps ensure that educational goals of the Tribe, including cultural preservation, student support, and post-secondary opportunities — remain connected to community needs and tribal values. The committee meets monthly, with a $100 stipend. Terms are 4 years.
